I’m sorry, but “Department of Corrections” sounds like the people who fix errors in newspaper stories, not the people who run prisons.

oh dear… Twitter Tools plugin for WordPress posted all my twits from the last day on the blog then reposted them as twits… ***FRANTIC ACTIVITY TO DELETE AND/OR FIX STUFF*** This helps explain why Twitter is down so much. I think I personally caused a five-minute outage with my Twitter Tools recursive loop.

Put this on your list of Creepiest Corporate Mascots: The Cyborg/Mecha/Robo-banker character promoting Capital One’s “Card Lab”. ESPECIALLY when he’s standing next to the cute kittehs on the custom card example.

Still, his body/armor/costume does look totally plastic, so that’s appropriate.

There’s something semi-awesome about the fact that during the same weekend as Pride Day, a runner named Tyson Gay was the biggest star at the Olympic tryouts. It certainly has confused Google News Search (as of 6/30/08, future clicking of that link may not get the same results).

FULL DISCLOSURE: Wendell is not gay, although he was called it enough times growing up to consider it a viable option. He also regrets ever using the Seinfeld-ism: “Not that there’s anything wrong with that.” While supporting Equal Rights for Everybody, at one time, he did oppose Same-Sex Marriage because he felt Marriage wasn’t a Right, it was Cruel and Unusual Punishment. Currently, Wendell is a (non-)practicing Asexual and not particularly proud of it, merely content with it.

In Twitter, the kottke asked his followers what was their “favorite 80s stop: a) collaborate and listen, or b) Hammer time?” Sorry, j, but my favorite ’80s “Stop” was “Don’t —- Believing” (1981), but for all-time it’s gotta be “…In the Name of Love” with “Who’ll —- the Rain” a solid second.
