If you should have any problems with this site in the next few hours (3:00PM PST and on…), it will be because I am upgrading my blogware from WordPress 2.0.5 to WordPress 2.0.6, and you know how all hell can break loose in the space between .5 and .6 (In fact, at this moment the “6″ key on my laptop is sticking… 66666666666666666. See?) But while I have this window of “blame WordPress” opportunity, I will also be making adjustments to the formatting and other things that we web-savvy folk without active sex lives call “tweaking the back end”.

And speaking of ‘technical difficulties’, I found DH’s explanations for their uptime problems last year to be refreshingly candid, informative and uniquely entertaining. But their latest entry to the company blog, with their New Year’s Resolutions is even more of everything I like. Complete with a “guaranteed to be controversial” response to the critics who say they “oversell”… they’re reducing their bandwidth and storage limits to new customers by 0.25% every day until the criticism stops or they lose business from it. (It must be noted that when you’re a Dreamhost customer, your bandwidth and storage is automatically raised by 0.50% a week). I really do still recommend them, in spite of their problems and overall weirdness (okay BECAUSE of their weirdness), and if you sign up through THIS LINK, I get a kickback.
