I’m sorry, but I’m still rather hypersensitive on the subject: anyway, this site has reappeared on the Google Top 856 search results for “Wendell” at (drumroll) #757. Yes, it does help to update the blog. And I’m back at #1 for my own full name, and Yahoo! has upped me from the #64 to the #62 Wendell. Back in the good old days when pop songs went up “the charts” week-by-week for months before making (or falling short of) #1, I was semi-addicted to such chartwatching. (I CHEERED ON Gordon Lightfoot’s “Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” on its way to #2 on the American Billboard list… it was a heroic effort.) Now, I get to do the same thing with my own weblog? Oh yeah, I’m in trouble.
Further Search Engine Opportunism to come, including the reposting of the Best of Wendell from past incarnations of the blog. They’ll be put back at their original dates, like this one, but linked from the front page for both real people and robots who haven’t seen them before. I’ll be doing other stuff, including getting my incoming links untangled and getting nice people who do link to me to link directly to the new address (Hey, Miss Cellania!!!). And OF COURSE, providing more entertaining and mostly non-political (BECAUSE I ALREADY VOTED) content.
