"Climbing the Ladder to Geekhood"

From the Times I Wished I Had a Cameraphone Although I Know Better Dept.:

Spotted on Highway 101 between Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo, one “Geek Squad Home Theater Install Unit” van, like the one in this picture I stoleborrowed from the Consumerist blog (which has stolenborrowed pictures itself in the past). Except in a non-urban environment, amd instead of one ladder anchored to the rack on top of the van, there were two. Two ladders? My first thought: MAN, them Big Screen TVs must be getting AWFULLY big! Second thought: they can’t be installing antennae on people’s roofs… NOBODY has an antenna anymore. Maybe a satellite dish. Yeah, that’s it. If Geek Squad is installing Home Theaters for Best Buy, they probably also install the dishes. Still, Geeks on ladders, climbing up on roofs? The only time a TRUE Geek gets up on a roof is to check out a meteor shower (and to try to figure out the real location of Rigel 7).

Those Best Buy Bastards are turning the Geeks into Tech Handymen(/women) or even – gasp – Tech Plumbers, and the first time I catch a glimpse of Geek buttcrack, I’m turning Amish.

Your Turn...
